This work it is draws inspiration from nights spent aboard ships after long years at sea, where, behind hatches wet from tropical rains, the author would retreat to her cabin to observe scenes that seemed straight out of an adventure story. Beautiful images that made you believe you were in a dreamlike paradise, yet as icy and violent as the ocean in the midst of a storm, where no matter how many anchors moor the ship, it moves and creaks as if at any moment it might break into a thousand pieces.

Every experienced sailor knows that behind that wet glass, what is attractive can become destructive.

The artwork is enhanced by perfect lighting.

Music: R.E.M.

This work invites us to question how much of what we see is “true” and how much is simply the result of the filter (our prejudices, fears, or desires) through which we choose to look. It is an invitation to introspection: sometimes, a “false feeling” is more powerful than reality itself because it is the one we choose to inhabit.
